President Trump slammed “Sleepy Joe” Biden on Monday, claiming he’s cleaning up the former vice president’s mess in the White House and mocking him for holding a rally in Pennsylvania – a swing state Trump won in 2016.
”The Media (Fake News) is pushing Sleepy Joe hard. Funny, I’m only here because of Biden & Obama. They didn’t do the job and now you have Trump, who is getting it done – big time!” the president wrote on Twitter.
Biden, who was born in Scranton, Pa., is holding a fundraiser in Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon in an effort to wrest the Keystone State away from Trump after he defeated Hillary Clinton there by 44,292 votes.
”Sleepy Joe Biden is having his first rally in the Great State of Pennsylvania. He obviously doesn’t know that Pennsylvania is having one of the best economic years in its history, with lowest unemployment EVER, a now thriving Steel Industry (that was dead) & great future!” Trump posted.
Trump also dismissed Biden endorsement by the International Association of Fire Fighters, saying the rank-and-file members prefer him.
“The Dues Sucking firefighters leadership will always support Democrats, even though the membership wants me. Some things never change!” Trump said.
In a tweet, Biden said he “couldn’t be more proud” to have the union backing his campaign. ”Unions built the middle class in this country – and as President, I’ll fight to strengthen them and grow the backbone of this country,” the tweet said.
Biden launched his third bid for the White House last week in an announcement that singled out Trump, saying “we are in a battle for the soul of this nation.”
